Sunday Style

Khaki shacket: Topshop
White tee: Zara
Strappy cami: New Look
Cullotes: Topshop
Gazelles by Adidas
Tote bag: Primark

So yesterday I had a lovely relaxing Sunday, breakfast and blogging in bed - catching up on some of my fave bloggers and a bit of Pinterest for weekly style inspo. Then I finally got round to visiting the Vogue 100 years of style exhibition at The Manchester Art Gallery, which I throughly enjoyed and will definitely be going again, and to purchase some merchandise from the gift shop. It was a fabulous exhibition, showcasing fashion of the era's and some very iconic designers, models and famous photos.

I've included some sneaky pics below. After the gallery, me and my friend went and bought a baguette followed by a coffee and pain au chocolat - feeling very Parisian indeed.

Kate Moss

Alexander McQueen - will always be one of my favourite designers/fashion artists

Maudie James looking absolutely fabulous in a long sequin dress and matching pink scarf and trousers so chic. I particularly like this image, as it shows the young man painting the image behind them and Maudie seems to be delighted by his sense of style, looking cool and hipster, how he would easily fit in today - proving fashion does come back around. And the chap who is admiring Maudie sat on the floor. I would love this among many of the others featured in my new flat!

All black everythaaang

Suede crochet top: Topshop
Ripped Jamie jeans: Topshop
Lace up sandals: Mango
Chloé Drew bag: By Chloé
Sunglasses: Miu Miu

As you may know, Manchester's summer is a bit different from the rest of the country at times, it's all or nothing with sun or rain. Luckily I managed to get some blog pictures whilst the it was sunny and clear blue skies.

This post is about how to wear all black in summer. If you're unsure what to wear or are a lover of all things black, then these Topshop and Mango pieces are definitely worth adding to your wardrobe. I've got so many compliments on the sandals they're now one of my go to shoes. Oh and they've gone into sale for £13! I'm tempted to go and purchase them in nude. I mean it would be rude not too! Just hoping that the summer sun returns so I can wear them more.

My fave items in this post are my Chloé Drew bag - a dream come true! And not to mention the sassy Miu Miu sunnies.

Happy hump day, the weekends on its way!

Pink Lady

Pink Satin Bomber: Topshop
Striped T-Shirt: H&M
Leather Trousers: H&M
Western Boots: Forever 21 (Shanghai)
Baker Boy Hat: H&M

My post was going to start with the words, 'one of my favourite times of the year is when it's bomber season, when spring turns into summer and it's all about hot days and cool summer nights'... Untill I have woke up this morning and it was actually snowing! Yes snowing! (When it is nearly May!) What is going on Manchester? It was beautiful sunny weather last week as well. I really hope it turns around quickly as I have a wedding to go to on Saturday and my pretty light weight floaty dress is not cut out for this summer snowing malarkey.

Earlier in the week, I met with a friend for some lunch and a catch up and we took some outfit posts, she is quite the photographer. I think for blogging you need someone who is two things: patient and constructive and who actually enjoys doing it (unlike when I force my boyfriend - a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do).

Fortunetley for us, it was nice snd sunny so we were able to get some bright pictures, as i am still using my iPhone and hoping to get my hands on a camera some time soon.

I am in looove with my new dusty pink bomber! I had my eye on it as soon as it arrived in store a couple of weeks ago and then it sold out. It is now available to buy in stores and online including other colours: navy and black. I purchased it with my uniform allowance which is always fab to get that discount when you want some new wardrobe bits. FYI students get 20% off which is continuing untill the weekend.

As I wear a lot of black anyway i thought I would mix it up and get pink and it looks great with all black or monochrome, like in the above images. I feel like a pink lady in it and that is one sassy feeling, with some extra added sass especially with a baker boy hat, which is a look that has been trending at the moment. If you live in Manchester and can't get your hands on one on the high street, then try heading down to pop boutique in the northern quarter for a more vintage one off style, sold in some other colours too.

Happy Thursday, I'm off to revise! Wish me luck!

Romantic Ruffles

Ruffle Tie-Neck Shirt: Topshop

Following on the French theme, I thought I would do a quick post about my latest purchase... Which I am loving and have had quite a few people complimenting and asking about where it's from.

Personally I think a crisp ivory shirt never goes out of style and should be a staple piece in your wardrobe, worn to acheive that day to night casual yet chic look. One of my favourite white shirt styles is my long white shirt, which has the right amount of structure (included in the 'Fluffy Dream' blog post).

So for those of you who are a fan of white shirts/blouses like myself and are dying to welcome the Spring/Summer season (can I get a heeeeellll yeah!) then refresh your wardrobe ready for the new season with this classic take on a white shirt; the tie neck gives the shirt an elegant feel paired with the ruffle detail giving it a romantic twist. All in all the right amount of smart and feminine for any gal!

I went for a sophisticated look here, styled with some leather trousers, hair up in a loose wave with black heeled boots. The blouse feels nice and lightweight and is quite versatile to suit different outfit looks, maybe style with a denim skirt or mom jeans for pared down nonchalance.

The Fluffy Dream

It's been quite a while since I last did a blog post, due to the pressure of final year! However in the first couple of months back after summer I got the pleasure of going on the final year trip to Shanghai in Novemeber with my uni friends which was amazing! Hopefully I will get time to post about it soon. To say I will be graduating this year is mad! The last 3 years have flew by.

It was lovely to have a break over Christmas and the New Year to see family and catch up with friends.

Over Christmas I got this amazing grey marabou jacket from Topshop with my discount, which is a dream! So I got a spare half an hour this morning before uni  to do a quick post. It is also available in a bright mustard colour which is just as fabulous.

Images below of both colours.

The cord skirt

Sometimes it's great to be simple and understated but still feel like you've made an effort but done it effortlessly, you know what I mean. I feel like the cord skirt combined with my fave suede jacket does the job.

It can be casual yet chic and also dressed up. Outfits that can go from day to night are definitely the one on summer days out with no time to change or straight out after work.

Here's yesterday outfit (first picture) and today's outfit (pictures to follow), dressed for a lovely meal with the family, wearing the cord skirt a bit more dressed up.

                     Fedora: Topshop
                     Cami top: Topshop
                     Cord skirt: Topshop
                     Suede jacket: mango
                     Boots: Boohoo
                     Belt: Primark

Dressing the skirt up with an old time favourite pair of matalan shoes believe it or not. The fringe bag is from a boutique in Wales which is also an old time fave. Not forgetting a touch of Chanel No. 5, courtesy of my stylish Nan. Who is definitely a style icon.

Sundaze

My delicious breakfast this morning, consisted of: weatabix, banana, blueberries & honey with pure orange juice in my new A mug!

This weekend I thought i would make the short travel home again from Manchester to Cheshire to spend some more quality time with the fam.

We have recently had our kitchen/dining area done and I must say hats off to my mum, it's gorgeous! She definitely could have dabbled in a bit of interior design! A field I wouldn't mind going into later on in life after fashion.

It has been lovely just relaxing and seeing family and popping out shopping with my mum and nan which is one of my favourite things to do. They treated me to a fab boho cord style A line skirt from a topshop and a bargain play suit from new look! Perfect for Croatia (I will post them soon).

Now we're definitely thinking it... It's time for the sun to come out and stay out! Apparently it's supposed to be heating up this week, fingers crossed!

For the short intervals of sun that did exist over the weekend I took my new mules out for a ride. They were a bargain from Primark and look just like the Topshop ones.

Outfit shots from this weekend and last bank holiday are posted below.

Enjoy your Sunday!
