Valencia

All expenses paid trip to Valencia?! Erm yes please.
So couple of weeks ago I got the opportunity to travel to Valencia to take part in a small training  course for customising denim using laser printing technology. It was really cool and a great opportunity. I got to meet two genuinely lovely people who made the trip a memorable one. I think it’s really nice when you meet new people that you no nothing about and end up having the best conversations. Very inspiring people.
Outside of the training we explored the wonderful city.. Valencia at night and ate and drank our way through some of the coolest and cutest restaurants around the town, and in the Ruzafa - known as Valencia’s hipster neighbourhood. We ate at one restaurant where the food and drink was just Devine and the Vino Tinto - red wine in Spanish was beaut. Not to mention the tapas, dirt cheap and simply delicious. We even managed to catch the sun set one evening, which was so dreamy, dusky skies soft sand and fresh sea air. Golden hour! You can’t beat it.
Exploring aside the main purpose of the trip was to learn the basics of how to use the laser machine in order to customise denim such as jeans, jackets and dungarees etc. This was for the launch of a new body optix campaign. This was a part time project which was really fun to be a part of, however the launch didn’t go as well as planned and unfortunately I didn’t go ahead with working on the machine. Which in all honesty, I’m a slightly glad about because it was a complex machine and process, suitable for people from a graphic design back ground. Unlike myself. A longer training time would have been better, albeit I’m happy to have gained further industry knowledge and experience and I had a great time after all.
From the trip, I discovered that Jeanologia are working with their customers to become as sustainable as they can be. Something I am quite passionate about. I also learnt to continue to embrace new challenges and be more open minded by putting myself out there more.
Believe it or not this was the first trip where I had actually flown alone, I've always enjoyed flying, but flying alone was something I was a bit nervous about before. I'm really glad I've had the chance to do it. Reading my book and taking in the clouds and sky was so nice and peaceful.
I would definitely like to visit Valencia again, for longer and when the weather is a bit warmer. Although I must say anything was better than the prolonged rain and snow we were having.
Valencia for a city break, I would certainly recommend.

On the look out for Spring

Fluffy pink jumper - Primark as seen in Glamour mag top picks
Leather trousers - River Island (not real leather, but super soft)
Black/white Converse - Converse bought in Office
Biker Jacket - Zara
Chain bag - Zara
Baker boy hat - ASOS

In this outfit I've teamed one of my coziest, yet sassiest jumpers with leather trousers for a laid back look. I love these trousers, they are super comfy and are really softly lined inside. They remind me a bit of some Gia style trousers, although mine are not quite designer they are good quality for the high street. They pull you in around the waist, but still feel quite loose and sit nicely. Great length as they suit boots and heels as well as trainers. I styled them with my converse for a more casual feel.

With the recent 'beast from the east' and snow blizzard we've had lately, it seems to be getting colder rather than warmer. Although this week I met a friend for lunch and felt like it had warmed up, I think I was being rather optimistic thinking it might nearly be time to get my legs out! We had a delicious brunch and lovely stroll, albeit a bit nippy. I saw a meme on Instagram that made me laugh it said 'this winter is like a girlfriend in an argument, storming out the room then coming back for more, shouting 'and another thing!' Which I think is relevant. As we saw a glimpse of Spring, the wintery weather returned. Lets hope this is the last of it.

On the topic of weather, i'm off on a business trip to Valencia next week! I'm really looking forward to it as its a great opportunity to work with a high end denim brand in the launch of their new campaign as the Brand Ambassador. I will be training over there in body optic technology as well as Photoshop among other things. With free time in the afternoons/evenings, i'll be sure to do a Valencia blog post when i'm back. With some tourist pics and further details about the denim brand and campaign, launching in Selfridges at the end of the month.

Watch this space.

Happy Sunday all. A Sunday well spent brings a week full of content.

The best of the Oscars 2018

Margot Robbie In Chanel. Chanel pieces are often always classy and beautifully made and this white dress showcases those strengths for Chanel as a brand. I particularly love the off the shoulder floral detail.

Jennifer Lawrence looking fierce and sassy in Christian Dior. The dress, hair and makeup really create a statement look. I am a big fan of metallic and the dress really compliments her figure.

Margot Robbie again, dazzling in Chanel Couture; not only was she killing it at the Oscars but at the after party too. What amazing Chanel dresses and overall gorgeous looks. I adore the layers of this dress, and delicate straps. The sequin and glitter embellishment really add glamour to the boho style of the dress. The chain ball bag is a v cute accessory too.

One of my favorite celebs, Sienna Miller, looking fabulous in Miu Miu. I'm really liking the subtle pastel colours, great choice of colour palette, as we slowly transition into spring. With a pop of red on the lip and a Hollywood glamour curl, divine.

Sofía Vergara, looking gorgeous in a classic black off the shoulder ensemble in custom Ralph & Rosso. Love the detail and trail of the dress.

The beautiful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also in Ralph & Rosso. This woman never fails to look incredible, no matter what look she is going for. This green dress, the design and mix of materials between the sequin body an sheer fabric is just stunning. Really elegant but with a modern day twist.

Elsa Hosk in Alberta Ferretti. Loving the sheer and glitter finish on the dress with the big Hollywood waves and red lip. Really suits her.

Alessandra Ambrosio in Ralph & Russo. This Victoria Secret model has a figure and tan to die for. Not many people can pull off a relatively bare/minimal look in a nude colour and make it stand out. The embellishment, off the shoulder and side split detail really make the dress pop.

And last, but not least - Kendall Jenner in Azzaro and Christian Louboutin.

One of the few celebrities to get her legs, arms and chest out. However she really pulls it off. Being one of the younger attendees and current fashion model. She has really embraced the big sleeves, incorporating that trend but also kept it classic, wearing black from head to toe. With a a glimpse of green in her earrings.

I mean honey, if you've got the legs and figure Kendall.. flaunt it.

Some of my latest looks

Recently featured pinstripe co-ord - Zara
Chanel'esque chain bag - Zara
Black tassel earrings - New Look

In this looked I teamed the outfit with my black open toe, block heeled boots (will post soon, they're a old fail-safe piece). I put this outfit together for a dressier night time look. What I love about both the jumper and trousers, is that both pieces are very versatile and can be teamed with petty much any shoe/bag to change up the look.

 Grey beret - H&M
Distressed leather jacket - Topshop
Chain Bag - Zara
Fluffy jumper - Zara
Gingham leggings - H&M
Patent boots - Zara

Good old H&M fitting room lighting for that quick outfit shot. The wind was working against me this day, proving a bit difficult to get that pic outdoors. Standard winter day in Manchester. This look was one I through together for a day of shopping and food. Comfort with a touch of Parisian Chic.

Baker boy hat - ASOS
Bell sleeve jumper - Zara
Flared trousers - Topshop
Patent boots - Zara

You've got to love a nicely decorated ladies loo's haven't you?! I thought the monochrome tiled floors went perfectly with my outfit. Meaning it would be rude not to get a quick outfit shot. What I particularly like about the look is that it combines two of my favorite things.. hats and big sleeves. This outfit was the perfect chilled Saturday vibe with a hint of sass. V comfortable I must add.

Will I ever stop loving hats and big sleeves? Stay tuned to find out.

A bit of berry for Christmas

                                                          LEATHER JACKET: TOPSHOP

                                                          STRIPE CO-ORD: ZARA

                                                          PATENT ANKLE BOOTS: ZARA

                                                          QUILTED CHAIN BAG: ZARA

                                                          BERET: H&M

                                                          EARRINGS: NEW LOOK

Wearing berry and feeling truly merry for Christmas! Hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas.

Again, it's been a while since I last posted, I have neglected my hobby and love for blogging lately. Just due to finding the time really. Any how... I thought I would get some outfit shots to share whilst enjoying the festivities over Christmas. What a fabulous one it has been, it has definitely gone to fast, but none the less it has been lovely as always to spend lots of quality time with family and old friends at home.

Christmas is one of my favourite times of year as its nice to get all festive in the run up and a reason to eat and drink more than usual! And most importantly, to be around loved ones and enjoy Chritsmas traditions. From a fashion prospective, I also like winter layering and big jumpers and coats (I much prefer summer in terms of weather though I have to say).

So this outfit is a mixture of thoughtful and lovingly selected Christmas presents from my amazing Mum, Dad and Nan and Grandad who are just the best, including my little brother of course who got me a lovely, cosy deep pink v neck fluffy jumper, (which I will hopefully post soon).

I ended my Christmas holidays this year with a surprise trip to Manchester with the family. Where we stayed in the Doubletree Hilton. A thoughtful gift from my Mum to my Nan and Grandad, my Brother and I had the pleasure of staying too. Complimentary cookies and delicious cocktails made the stay even better.

There's something quite nice about staying in a hotel in your own city. I think its the luxuries of hotel facilities and views of the city. (Even though I do have great views from my apartment). It was great to be able to take my scouse Grandad around Manchester and visit some old traditional pubs. We shopped, ate and drank and what a good day it was! Even better wearing this outfit which I will talk in a bit of detail below.

I've always been a big lover of stripes! I have recently started taking a liking to vertical stripes. Typically I would go for horizontal stripes as they are said to be more flattering, however this co-ord fits quite nicely and is sooo comfortable. I love that the jumper and trousers can be worn together and separately. I am a big fan of pieces that you can dress up and down. I'm certainly going to wear the trousers with some boots or heels and a dressy top as a night time look and I've recently bought some new Converse which will go well with them for a more laid back casual look.

The distressed leather jacket is also really comfortable and goes with pretty much anything, I like that this jacket is a bit different and looks new but also has that lived in, slightly vintage vibe to it.

My new baby, the chanel'esq bag looks and feels fabulous. I've had my eye on it for a while now, fits more in than you think and is perfect for both day and night looks.

Any one that knows me knows I adore hats, my hat collection keeps growing, from berets, to baker boys and fedrora's. I just love me a hat.

And last but not least my pretty patent boots, which are also from Zara, goes so well with the red stripe in the co-ord and the pop of red in my beret.

Car park chic

Well, its fair to say it's been a little while! I've been meaning to get back into the flow of blogging again, but work life has just been quite hectic. That being said, i'm soon to start a new chapter in my career and of course that called for a lil shopping spree, 'cause any excuse really!

I just purchased a few basics and some summer staples as even though we've had some nice summer days so far, there hasn't been enough heat for a proper update on my summer wardrobe, until I get a holiday booked that is.

I'm dying to get in the sun and near the sea.. wishing I could just been whisked away to a secluded island free of charge... a girl can dream.

But until then here's me enjoying some summer greenery, keeping it chic in leafy car park, wearing one of my recent and fave basic tee's (outfit details below). As well as this I also purchased a dressier striped over sized tee from & other stories. Because I truly believe one can never have too many stripes.

Striped Tee - Zara (basic)

Skinny dark denim wash jeans - Zara

Trainers - Adidas Gazelles

Baker boy hat - Asos

Suede bag - Florencia in Barcelona

Pics to come of the VM in the Florencia store and my trip to Barcelona.

Never look back

Slogan shirt - H&M
Raw hem Jamie jeans - Topshop
Suede yellow boots - Zara
Fish net socks - Primark
Fedora - H&M

Hello spring!

We are now in March and spring has officially arrived, although at times I don't think Manchester is 100% sure on what season it is, there has still been some wet and chilly days lately but I'm hoping it starts to warm up soon. I am sooo ready for summer, I mean aren't we all!

So last week I got the pleasure of shooting with an old friend, she kindly got some outfit shots for me using her camera. So we headed over to Northern Quarter in Manchester to get some good shots. Unfortunately the Manchester weather wasn't on our side, so we did have to hurry before the rain returned. We're hoping to shoot again soon when the weather warms up, so watch this space.

I love the transitional pieces that are available at this time of year. I had my eyes on these suede yellow booties, and when I walked into Zara and there was one size 6 left I knew it was a sign! Plus I'm a sucker for a statement shoe. I must admit I was on edge wearing them due to Manchester's rainy weather, so I think they may have to wait to be worn again until its dryer. I think they will really compliment my new gingham ruffle mini skirt, which is also from H&M.

Its all about gingham this season and I am loving it, a pattern that you can truly carry through from a day to night look. I've already got three new gingham pieces and we're not far into spring. I just need that sun to make an appearance so I can show them off.

Mixing multiple trends is something I often like to do and that's why this particular shirt caught my eye. As you will have noticed from recent posts, I have been showing my appreciation for bell sleeves which were seeing on at the runways shows and in stores at the moment. Which led me to get another bell sleeve item, bell sleeves, slogan and pinstripe all in one.. win win.

To finish this look, I teamed my shirt and boots with my failsafe Topshop Jamie jeans.

Finally the fish nets are still around whether you are going for a cool day time look, or adding a touch of grunge to your night out outfit, there are some great options for fishnet pop socks and tights available on Asos and for bargain prices head to Primark.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday people!
